Antique Majolica Gluggle Jug

This gorgeous antique Majolica Fish Gurgle Jug Vase dates back to the late 1800s. The Fish Shaped vase is variously named as a Gluggle, Bubble or Glug Jug although most call it a Gurgle Jug. So called because the fish jug features a unique shape that makes a glugging sound when you pour liquid from the fish’s open mouth. The fish’s moulded features such as it scales, head and fins are clearly visible. Please view all images as there is some damage.

Produced at the end of the 1800s, this fish is made of earthenware and heavily glazed. An antique piece of Majolica with strong green and pink colourings. Blemished green glaze interior.

The overall condition of the jug is excellent for its age, there is a hairline crack to the mouth of the jug please view all the picture to get a full idea of the damage.
