These fantastic pairs of painted and glazed Foo Dogs or Fu Dogs are in great vintage condition. They are being sold as pairs all in superb condition. Finished in a high gloss glaze and hand painted dog and stand make them very striking. They would make a fantastic gift but even better if you got to keep them yourself.
Fu dogs are mythical lion-like animals that are protectors. Fu dog statues can be found in China flanking the entrances and gates to palaces, official buildings, temples, homes, and even tombs. These guard dogs keep watch and were historically placed to ward off any negative energies.
In superb vintage condition with no chips cracks or crazing please see the images.
