These Leaper Newlyn Vases are a real find and would look fantastic either as a set of three or displayed on there own. visually stunning and distinctive, made by the famous potter Eric Leaper in the 1960s - 1970s.
Eric Leaper moved to Newlyn, South Cornwall in 1954, where he started the pottery known as Leaper, Newlyn. In Newlyn Eric Leaper was as well known by the potters and fishermen for throwing parties as for throwing pots. Leaper, Newlyn lasted until 1980, and it was during this time that developed and produced the multi-coloured 'splash' designs for which he is most famous. Many of the glazes contained dangerous chemicals, and it was from these that some of the richest colours were obtained.
Dimensions and condition
Vase A - 15cm tall 7cm wide - excellent colours, no chips or cracks only very light crazing to the heavy glaze.
Vase B - 15cm tall 7cm wide - excellent colours, no chips or cracks only very light crazing to the heavy glaze..
Vase C - 15cm tall 7cm wide - excellent colours, no chips or cracks only very light crazing to the heavy glaze.
